I’ve been a marketing consultant since 2015, and can also improve your website and marketing materials.

Authenticity Reading & Consultation
I provide authenticity reading (or sensitivity reading, if you prefer) for: ADHD, ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and joint hypermobility syndrome and chronic pain, bringing my own lived experience of these conditions. I can also provide authenticity reading for the asexual experience. I will read your manuscript (I can read prose, television, film and audio scripts) and provide in-page comments plus a report. You are in no way required to make changes to your work based on my thoughts and suggestions – I am just one person! – but I will provide thoughtful and constructive feedback. We can also do a video call as part of the feedback process if you prefer to talk through feedback points.
If I don’t think I’m the right fit to provide a reading for your manuscript, I will reach out to a colleagues whose experience is more aligned with your story.

Manuscript, Query Letter & Synopsis Appraisals
A published novelist and a scriptwriter with several years of critique partner work and experience pitching, I can help you improve your chances of an agent or production company selecting your manuscript, or help you get ready to self publish or self produce your work. I can read prose (novels, novellas, short story collections) and film, theatre, audio or television scripts.
Manuscript Appraisals and Developmental Editing: I will read your manuscript and provide a report on the flow of the story, plot points, characterisation, pacing and structure. If you wish for this to be conducted alongside an authenticity read, I can combine the two. I do not provide proof reading or line editing.
£25 per hour with student and concessionary prices available. Please note there is a 20% rush fee for projects requiring a turnaround of 14 days or fewer. A contract will be required. Please note I cannot provide advice for anything that will be submitted to an academic creative writing course. If you’ve already received a grade but want further advice, by all means get in touch!
Query Letter, Synopsis and Pitch Material Appraisals: Clear, concise pitching materials are a must for any creative project. I will provide feedback on your querying materials, from a one-page synopsis to an elevator pitch to an author query letter to a blurb. £25 per hour with student and concessionary prices available. Please note there is a 20% rush fee for projects requiring a turnaround of 14 days or less.

Marketing Audit
A thorough report examining your website, newsletter and social media offerings. Presented as a PDF or Word doc, your report will highlight what your brand is doing well, what can be improved and how. I will compare your branding and marketing to some of your competitors’ branding and marketing, and provide suggestions for improving your brand’s standing in comparison with your competitors.
£25 per hour. Student and concessionary rates are available. Please note there is a 20% additional rush fee for projects requiring a turnaround of 14 days or fewer.

Ongoing Marketing Work: Website Creation & Improvement, Social Media Posts
After providing a marketing audit, I can get to work improving your website in the long term! Depending on your requirements I can set up an easy-to-manage website using WordPress, provide regular edits and tweaks to your site to improve SEO, write and schedule social media content and provide statistics analysis. I can write copy for regular blog posts, or you can provide me with draft posts which I can edit for optimum search engine optimisation.
